Natriuretic peptides and their cGMP-synthesizing guanylyl cyclase receptors (GC-A, receptor for ANP and BNP; GC-B, for CNP) are critically involved in the regulation of arterial blood pressure (all NPs) and skeletal growth (only CNP).
